Topped with optional garnishes like sour cream, diced tomatoes, and fresh cilantro, these nachos offer a delightful combination of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • ½ pound lean ground beef
  • ½ cup diced yellow onion
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning

Cheese

  • 8 ounces Colby jack cheese, shredded

Chips

  • 12 ounces bag of tortilla chips (Tostitos brand – use about of the bag)

Optional Garnishes

  • Sour cream
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Spray a 12-cup capacity bundt pan thoroughly with cooking spray and set it aside for later use.
  2. Cook Beef and Onions: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, combine the ground beef, diced yellow onion, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 6–7 minutes until the beef is fully browned with no pink remaining. Drain off any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Add Seasoning: Return the skillet to medium heat and stir in ¼ cup water and 2 tablespoons taco seasoning. Continue cooking for 2–3 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated. Remove the skillet from heat.
  4. Layer Ingredients in Bundt Pan: Place half of the shredded Colby jack cheese evenly at the bottom of the prepared bundt pan. Add half of the cooked beef mixture as the next layer, followed by about one-third of the tortilla chips. Avoid packing the chips tightly.
  5. Add Remaining Layers: Add the remaining shredded cheese on top of the chips, followed by the rest of the ground beef mixture. Finally, add another one-third of the tortilla chips as the top layer, keeping the layers even without overfilling.
  6. Bake: Place the bundt pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and the layers to heat through.
  7. Invert Nachos: Remove the bundt pan from the oven. Place a large, heatproof plate over the bundt pan and carefully invert it to transfer the layered nachos onto the plate. Gently remove the bundt pan, and if any cheese has stuck to the pan, replace it evenly on top of the nachos.
  8. Add Garnishes and Serve: Top the nachos with optional garnishes such as sour cream, diced tomatoes, and chopped fresh cilantro as desired. Serve warm and enjoy your unique party appetizer!

Notes

  • Use a non-stick or well-sprayed bundt pan to ensure easy removal of the nachos.
  • Do not tightly pack the tortilla chips to maintain a crunchy texture.
  • Customize the toppings based on preference, adding jalapeños, guacamole, or olives for extra flavor.
  • If preferred, substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Serve immediately for best texture; leftover nachos may become soggy.
