4.9 from 87 reviews

This Easy Christmas Crockpot Candy is a deliciously simple treat made by melting a mix of white almond bark, semisweet chocolate chips, and German sweet chocolate, combined with crunchy dry roasted peanuts. Prepared in a slow cooker, this festive candy is perfect for holiday gatherings or gifting, with optional sprinkles to add a cheerful touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base

  • 2 lbs white almond bark (white candy coating), broken or chopped into smaller squares
  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 oz German sweet chocolate bar, broken or chopped into smaller squares

Add-ins

  • 32 oz dry roasted or cocktail peanuts

Optional

  • Holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker: Lightly spray the slow cooker insert with non-stick cooking spray if desired to prevent sticking. Add the chopped white almond bark, semisweet chocolate chips, and German chocolate pieces to the slow cooker insert.
  2. Melt the chocolates: Cover the top of the slow cooker with a clean, dry kitchen towel, then securely place the lid over it. Cook on HIGH for 1 hour to start melting the chocolate. After this, reduce the heat to LOW and continue cooking for an additional hour or until all the chocolates are fully melted and smooth, stirring every 15-20 minutes to ensure even melting and avoid scorching.
  3. Add peanuts: Carefully remove the lid and towel, being cautious not to let any condensation drip into the melted chocolate mixture. Add the dry roasted peanuts to the melted chocolate and stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients evenly.
  4. Form candy clusters: Line several baking sheets with wax paper. Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of the candy mixture onto the wax paper. If using holiday sprinkles, add them on top of the clusters before they harden to decorate.
  5. Set the candy: Refrigerate the candy clusters for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until they are fully set. If refrigeration is not possible, allow them to stand at room temperature until hardened. Once set, store the candy in a cool place inside an airtight container to preserve freshness.

Notes

  • Non-stick spray is optional but helps with easy cleanup.
  • Use a dry kitchen towel to avoid condensation dripping into the chocolate, which can cause the candy to seize.
  • If you do not have German sweet chocolate, you can substitute with additional semisweet chocolate chips but the flavor will be slightly different.
  • Sprinkles are optional but add a festive look to the candy clusters.
  • Store in an airtight container in a cool place to maintain texture and flavor.
