Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Layer

  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (one whole bag)

Pretzels

  • 8 oz pretzels (half of a 16-oz bag)

Caramel Drizzle

  • 11 oz Kraft caramel (one whole bag)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Topping

  • Sea salt (for sprinkling, preferably flaky sea salt)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside to prevent sticking and allow easy removal of the bark.
  2. Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips by heating in 30-second increments. Stir well between each increment to ensure smooth, even melting and avoid burning.
  3. Spread Chocolate and Add Pretzels: Spread about two-thirds of the melted chocolate evenly over the parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the pretzels on top of the chocolate, spacing them irregularly as desired. Gently press the pretzels into the chocolate to secure them.
  4. Melt Caramel: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramel and heavy cream. Microwave for 2 minutes until the caramel is melted and smooth, stirring halfway through for an even texture.
  5. Drizzle Caramel: Evenly drizzle the melted caramel over the pretzels and chocolate layer.
  6. Top with Remaining Chocolate and Salt: Drizzle the leftover melted chocolate over the caramel layer to add another chocolate dimension. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top to enhance the contrast of flavors.
  7. Set the Bark: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or until fully set. Alternatively, allow it to set at room temperature for about 2 hours if you prefer not to chill it.
  8. Cut and Serve: Once set, cut the bark into small pieces or shards. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate with milk or dark chocolate according to your preference.
  • If Kraft caramel is not available, use any good quality caramel candy or sauce.
  • Press pretzels gently into the chocolate to ensure they stick well but don’t break them.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge for up to two weeks.
  • For a decorative touch, use different types of pretzels or add nuts before the caramel drizzle.
